Although initially she was not a fan of the film's sexual violence and nakedness, she was eventually convinced by the feminist nature of the plot and powerful characters. Butler played Jennifer Hills who, after being severely attacked inside a cabin in the forest and then gang-raped, seeks revenge on those responsible. Directed by Steven R. Monroe the film premiered on October 8th of the 8th of October, 2010. Butler began filming The Stranger Within with Estella and William Baldwin, the psychological thriller, on Mallorca in November 2011. The plan was to shoot at Copenhagen Denmark, New York City as well. Butler appeared as a character in The Demented, a 2013 horror movie with Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.
